Groups360 continues to deploy direct booking tool for meetings
By mid-2019, four The hotel companies – Accor, Hilton Worldwide, IHG and Marriott International – have together invested $ 50 million in technology company Groups360’s project to develop a direct booking engine for non-bidding meetings. In March, IHG was the first company to launch the product, called GroupSync Engage, in nearly 30 properties of varying sizes.
Interestingly, none of the hotel company’s three other investors were next. First, the Thompson Nashville, Virgin Hotels Nashville and Atlantis Paradise Island launched GroupSync Engage. And now, Omni Hotels & Resorts has announced that it has rolled out the tool to its four Dallas-area properties – Omni Dallas, Omni Frisco, Omni Las Colinas, and Omni Fort Worth – with the rest of its portfolio of 50 properties to offer the booking engine by September.
GroupSync Engage gives planners the ability to secure event space and rooms at group rates while viewing real-time availability of any space and room a property has made available through the tool on preferred dates of an event.
As to why IHG was the first company to enable GroupSync Engage, Groups360 CEO Kemp Gallineau told MeetingsNet at the end of February that “they quickly implemented some of the integrations needed to make this happen. works effectively for planners.
Gallineau added that “the product is probably going to be for events requiring 50 rooms or less, but you might see the next phase being repeat customers with a few hundred rooms using it to book because they already know what they need from this property. “For meetings of any size, the platform allows planners to customize session room configurations, audio-visual requirements and catering offerings.
IHG expects GroupSync Engage to be used in approximately 500 of its more than 5,000 properties around the world by the end of 2021. As for when Accor, Hilton and Marriott may roll out GroupSync Engage in some of their properties, a Groups360 spokesperson said: “There will be more news to come soon.”
